My first blog post is inspired by today's yoga practice. My yoga teacher spoke of "drishti", which I know means "focus your attention", but never gave the actual meaning any attention ~ until TODAY.
In most of my yoga classes I find myself wandering sometimes. Gazing towards my left or right - for no reason at all really - sometimes to check out that cool chick or dude doing that beautiful arm balance I have yet to conquer. And it's only because I love to see awesome people just conquering - it's my inspiration and my motivation to continue on my path.
But during today's morning practice, I kept that "drishti" on my mind. I felt more focused and alive. My breathing was on point. My poses felt organic. And it helped me stay grounded in my practice. Let's just hope I can continue my attention inward and incorporate this into my daily life. Namaste.
for more info on Drishti meanings I found this beautiful blog...mmmm....hmmmm:
